Easy Kit Kat Brownies
Can you make special brownies? That was a question recently asked of me and for a while, I wasn’t quite sure where they were going with that request. Turns out we just needed to get creative with some candy bars and some good old gooey brownies! This is a simple way to make some special brownies – these have a little extra chocolate (and who doesn’t love that) and a little surprise wafer crunch!
This is an easy way to turn brownies into a conversation piece as well as a special treat for those that love Kit Kat’s!
You will need two boxes of your favorite boxed brownie mix (we like the double dark chocolate fudge brownies by Betty Crocker) and a package (12 pack or more) of regular size Kit Kat’s.
For some reason we have found that these turn out best when you make one box of brownie mix at a time. So for best results, follow the instructions on the back of the box (USING THE FUDGE-LIKE BROWNIE OPTION) and mix together one box of brownie mix in a medium size bowl.
Grease a 9×13 glass baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Pour in the first batch of brownie mix. Next, break apart and place your Kit Kat candy sticks in an even layer with space in between each on top of your brownie mix. Place as many as you like – you can either pack them in or leave some brownie space between.
In that same bowl, mix together the second box of brownie mix and pour that over top of the Kit Kat candies.
Place in the oven and bake for approximately 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the brownies comes out slightly sticky. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before cutting into squares.
