Paint and Sip Ladies Night

I’ve been seeing quite a few of these “paint and sip” locations pop up around the area and so a few of us got together for a ladies

night out (a rare occasion) recently. It was actually a lot of fun and something I would enjoy doing again. The closest one to us is over in Queensbury called Sip and Canvas. It is in a nice location and set in one of the older town buildings that they have revitalized.

Sitting down to our blank canvas we were given a short introduction on technique and then given the first step to our project for the evening. While we worked on that part, there was a lot of chatting and laughs as we figured things out. Slowly (yet surprisingly quickly) our pictures emerged from the colors we kept adding and pretty soon we all had shapes that remarkably looked like they were supposed to.

After two hours of painting and instruction, intermingled with some wine and laughter, we all had a personalized hand painted rooster to take home!

I like your rooster. I did this one time in Portsmouth with my granddaughter, and it was a really fun evening. Maybe it is time to do it again. 🙂

Thanks! He’s hanging up in my kitchen now and it looks great! These paint classes are popping up just about everywhere, which is kind of neat as they are fun. I can see how they can become addicting – a friend of mine goes to one at least once a month!

What a great idea, I don’t know if there is anything like this around here… there ought to be!
