Baked Apples

Want a simple dessert that says fall comfort food? Baked apples! These are simple, delicious, and a great way to serveeasy baked apple apples to a big hungry group. I like to use larger apples so that you can stuff them with a good amount of filling. Tart apples work best with this recipe but any apple will do fine.

We like these when you feel like a little dessert but don’t want to take up a lot of time baking. They are great served at Thanksgiving or at other holiday gatherings. Kids especially love these baked apples as they are just the right serving size. Serve with some whipped cream or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

Large apples

Butter

Brown sugar

Cinnamon

Quick cooking oats

Using a kitchen knife or corer, core the apples without going through the bottom of the apple.

Preheat oven to 350°F and place apples in a baking dish. Fill each apple with a small pat of butter, a little brown sugar, a little scoop of oats, and then sprinkle the top with a little cinnamon.

Bake for 30-35 minutes until the apples are soft and the filling is bubbly and hot.
