Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
Cancer is a scary word. Through research and education it is becoming less of a scary word to avoid and more of a word to
stand up against. I have lost several people in my life to cancer. I have also celebrated many birthdays with loved ones who have survived and beaten this disease.
Because of them and the many others out there that have had or may get cancer, I am a strong supporter of the American Cancer Society. I am a team leader for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk that happens each fall and enjoy meeting so many amazing people who have all decided to stand up to cancer.
I hope each of us is aware of ourselves, gets regular check-ups, and supports those around us that may need our help. October is breast cancer awareness month so please spread the word! The walk is being held at Castleton State College in Vermont this year on Sunday October 6th.
We’re all in this together.
