Homemade Pizza from the Garden
I have been waiting for this moment since I began planting seeds in January! The tomatoes have begun to turn red! We have basil that is beautiful. Yellow squash is being picked daily. Swiss chard is plentiful. The banana peppers are just ready to pick.
This means……..GARDEN PIZZA!!!!!
We fired up the oven last night, made pizza dough, and then went out to the garden to pick vegetables for the pizza!
As we have a few picky eaters we kept it pretty simple on one pizza with just sauce, cheese, pepperoni, and banana peppers.
The second however was absolutely amazing and my favorite kind of pizza….loaded veggie.
This pizza had sauce, cheese, banana peppers, yellow squash, fresh garden tomatoes, Swiss chard, basil, and kale. After it was baked in the oven, I sprinkled a little fresh feta cheese on top for a salty finish. What a great pizza!
