Winter Storm Nemo

When the storm started we decided to take a hike in the local state park Friday night. I was hoping to see some wildlife, but they, unlike us, were bedded down for the storm and the woods were quiet.

Saturday when we woke up I was expecting a lot more snow than was out my window. Total, we only got about a foot of snow in some places. The wind was howling and making snow drifts in odd places around the farmhouse. We took some time to clear a path for the chickens to the stream where they could drink. The sun was shining and all seemed well.

We spent some time shoveling snow into neat piles along the road and driveway and then went in for hot cocoa. Sunday we managed to get some shopping done which was good because the chickens were almost out of grain.

This morning, I awoke to hear on the radio that we would be getting a possible mix of snow and rain later today. I just looked out my office window at 9:07am and see that the “afternoon” snow flurries are apparently starting early, and sticking! We might be in for more snow than we thought here in Vermont!
