Homemade Sweet and Spicy Honey Red Wine Barbecue Sauce
This recipe is so easy to make, no cooking involved, and it can make as little or as much as you need. This recipe makes about 1 1/2 cups of barbecue sauce, but you can double or even triple the recipe depending upon how much you think you will need.
1/2 cup of packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup of ketchup
2 tablespoons of red wine
1 teaspoon of paprika
1 teaspoon of chili powder
1 teaspoon of salt (optional)
1 tablespoon of raw honey
dash of ground black pepper
In a small bowl, whisk or use a fork to combine the brown sugar, ketchup and red wine until the sugar is dissolved.
Add the spices and honey and continue to stir until everything is thoroughly mixed.
Use right away, or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
