No-Yeast Quick Cinnamon Rolls
2 cups of flour
2 tablespoons of sugar
4 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
3/4 cup of milk
3 tablespoons of softened butter
1 cup of dark brown sugar
6 tablespoons of melted butter
1 1/2 tablespoons of powdered cinnamon
1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream (milk works as well but the cream makes it nice and thick and has more flavor)
1/2 cup of powdered sugar
In a large bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix in the 3 tablespoons of softened butter. Add the milk and mix to form a soft dough. The dough may be sticky and if it is, add as much extra flour as you need to form it into a manageable ball of dough.
Sprinkle flour on your work surface and roll out the dough into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread your filling mixture all over the dough making sure to spread it right up to the edges.
Roll up the rectangle and with a sharp knife, slice it into 18 equal buns.
Grease a baking dish well and line up the cinnamon buns with the seam ends inward. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 400°F or until lightly browned on top.
For the glaze, combine your cream and powdered sugar until you get the desired consistency to drizzle over the buns.
Serve warm and enjoy!
